What's on my mind today is I'm now into my final two months here in NYC, after just over 26 years of almost nonstop habitation. Some very exciting things are happening, transitions and progress. As many of you know, I got married one month ago. Next up: leaving my job of the last 6 years, a week and a half in Ecuador to document the work of a surgical charity, the opening of a group show at Mystic Seaport, emptying my apartment, moving to Geneva, learning a language and, greatest of all, spending all my days being in the same time zone as my wonderful wife. So, in honor of life transitions, I have here a couple images that were progressively saved and adjusted as I was drawing them.

4 more from the Q
Today I rode my bicycle into work, something I really enjoy and wish this city was more kind to. A downside to cycling to work is that I'm not drawing on the subway. As the weather improves and I ride to work more often, the drawings will be a rainy day event. The weather is just starting to have hints of the Spring around the corner. But it hasn't taken full hold yet. It's slowly waking. So, from last week and earlier this week, a selection of 4 drawings, 2 awake, 2 asleep, from my wonderful Q.

4 recent drawings
As with the others, these are all from the Q train, the subway that I take from my Brooklyn neighborhood. A few short years ago it was the most diverse zip code in America, which I think is a great honor. I think it was Newsweek that made the revelation according to census figures. Here, we have old and young, orthodox jewish and caribbean. The list could go on and on, but it's late and I have to save something for later on. I hope you enjoy these.

From the Archives
For this update, I've dug into my archives and pulled a few from last year. Using another app, this time, too. But what remains the same are the straphangers, deep in thought, reading, or talking to friends.

Angry woman and hipsters
The title says it all. I did find it amusing that once I noticed the guy with large hipster glasses, I suddenly saw a bunch of other people suffering from the same malaise.

France, Russia, Wisconsin, India
From Thursday and Friday, four more faces. The first made me think of Daumier. The second was a Russian guy whose physique was brutish, but his personality was very happy and light as he talked to his friend. The next is a woman who was very round in a middle-America fashion. And finally there was a very intense guy who I'm guessing was from India. All on my Q train.
